Marion Corbin and Susan Littin, both former financial industry executives and life-long New Yorkers, decided after 9/11 to pursue a long held passion and open an art gallery in the village of Andes in the northern Catskills. Blink Gallery, specializing in contemporary art and design, exhibited the work of several contemporary jewelers which inspired the two women to pursue their own vision of personal adornment and "Sumaris" jewelry was born.

Sumaris creates unique designer jewelry. Each necklace, pair of earrings, or bracelet is handcrafted and makes a bold and dramatic statement ranging from elegant to funky. Original designs are made up of carefully selected contemporary and vintage elements which may include semi-precious stones, vintage and handmade beads, collectible brooches, vintage lucite, silver and gold.
